Ok, show me those then because that would mean someone hacked the GW servers and obtained the source code to GW. GW is fully client/server, there is nothing on the local client that you can use to build the server version from unlike with WoW and other MMO's.
Even hacking the server you play on wouldnt give you what you need since that doesnt tell you anything about the functionality and design of the backend DB servers.

I call bullshit, put up or shut up.

And please dont come up with some story that its all super sekrit because that doesnt make it any more believable

How about you actually go and do a search. Exspecially since posting that stuff on forums is illegal. You know that nifty little function that most net browsers have.

Private servers exist - we know because NCsoft has shut down some. Also, the EotN armor leaks were supposed to have originated from a private server (the 1337 character slots were a dead giveaway ).

They are not legal. At all. How they got the data to run them, who knows. Perhaps they decoded what the Anet servers send to the client and retro-engineered it? Wouldn't know.

As for the end of Guild wars - I think it would be nice of Anet to create a "terminator" program that would allow GW to be played as a single player game. Should be simple to implement.

However, keep in mind - GW1 servers will stay up for the foreseeable time. As GW1 population shrinks by migrating to GW2 (or other games), the server costs go down.

So...where are they? Google doesnt know the answer except to link to shady websites but no one who seems in any way serious or above board.

I can put up a website in 10 minutes which says I have a private GW server, please log in here with your GW account.

GW is already single player for me, so a 7 hero zero-ping version would be amazing =P

Yes... I firmly believe that your server would be full.

I did. I'm not surprised. These fully functional servers are the usual quality of emulators. I wouldn't consider them even working, let alone beta-quality but definitely not playable.

But I guess we have different perspectives on what makes a playable server.

Of course, there would need to be AI, that would operate those heroes. No emulator (for any game) has AI beyond the basic move around and spam type.

Ooooooo.

I wouldn't joke about that, because people will really start posting account info.

Yes, the protocol and all that have been decoded.

But after you're done with all that, you haven't even started. Show me a server with heroes using skills, handling AoE positioning, interrupting, with complete collision detection between map and between players, quests working and traders working, ...

As was said before, that's not what these servers do.

But I hate to break it to you but GWLP isnt the only one out there, and they do have a FULL SERVER RUNNING.
I'm sorry, but you're an uninformed moron. Making up information is cool on the internets!

The server was never shut down, the original author was invited to lunch with Anet but declined to go, since then it has changed hands. It was never once shutdown, nor is there a "full server", "running".

It is not "out", never has been "out". There are no server binaries available anywhere for public download, it is being alpha tested.

Hey antheus, go put some paragon skills on your assassin, your level zero assassin, without a secondary, in presearing.

If you're saying it's not done, well, yeah, these things take time.

yeah, I think a few of these posters are really baiting you. You probably should just let them think you're bullshitting and leave it at that. Hell sometimes I even think that by ANet not hosting their own forums they are better at ease with posting on other forums as though they weren't employees. Sometimes some of these posters sure seem like they would be working for them anyhow.

Don't let your egos get the best of you, just turn a blind eye and let them think what they want, whether it is true or not. Remember in the ToS that posting ANYWHERE concerning tools, exploits, emulators, etc can get you banned.

Anet said LONG ago (betas or early release?) that they would release GW for private servers when they closed their own servers. Whether or not that still holds true is a quest you'd have to ask Anet directly.
